On yet another occasion, Apollo pioneered Cochlear
Implants in Sri Lanka bringing relief and hope for many
hearing impaired patients. The surgery infuses technology that artificially

One of the most critical and ground breaking cardiac surgeries carried
out to date in Sri Lanka was on a four-year–old Pakistani child.
The case required high risk surgery to repair a complex and severe medical
affliction called the 'Blue Baby Syndrome'.
Apollo Hospitals Colombo has carried out a multitude of completely successful
paediatric and adult cardiac procedures. Especially outstanding have
been it's success rates, which are comparable to those of the most distinguished
international hospitals. Apollo Colombo doctors have successfully carried
out major heart surgery on more than 800 adults, infants and children,
including newborns. In addition, up to 450 children have successfully
undergone non-surgical corrections of various heart problems with the

A young women suffering from paravalvular leak after valve replacement
had a successful closure of the leak with non-surgical device. This
case was the first of its kind performed in the sub-continent.
