Apollo Hospitals Colombo (LHCL) team provides a wide spectrum of services to patients from overseas and their family members, ensuring them of a pleasant and comfortable experience throughout their stay.

Our services include:

Appointments and Referrals -

We can help you make appointments and referrals for consultations at our Specialist Outpatient Clinics personally looked after by our International Patient Coordinator. Based on the medical history provided, we will recommend and schedule an appointment for you with an appropriate specialist.

Admission Services -
 
Our team will also assist you in making arrangements for inpatient admission, including advising you on the approximate length of stay and pre-admission fee estimates . When you arrive at the hospital, our team will receive you and accompany you through the registration and admission process.
 
Accommodation -

Our travel desk helps you to find a hotel, guest house or apartment that best meets your needs and budget, at the Hospital's special rate. For further queries please mail to sulakshini@aitkenspence.lk or jane@apollocolombo.com

Transfer to the hospital from the airport or hotel, via air-conditioned car/taxi or an ambulance can be arranged to ensure that you have a smooth connection.

Q. What information would I need to provide to make the first appointment?

A. Please provide us with your :

  1. Name (as in your passport)
  2. Passport number
  3. Current address
  4. Contact phone number
  5. Date of birth
  6. Notes on your medical problem
  7. Doctor of your choice
Preferred date of travel and appointment 
 
Q. If I do not have a specific doctor in mind, would you be able to recommend a doctor?
A. Yes, we will be happy to recommend a doctor based on the information provided by you on your condition.
 
Q. What documents would I need to bring with me for my first appointment?
A. For your first appointment, please bring along your any medical records/history, x-rays, current medication, and all relevant information pertaining to your medical condition. If you are referred by a doctor, also bring along contact details of the referring doctor.
 
Q. Do I need a doctor's referral from my home country?
A. No, you do not need a referral from your home country. You are welcome to get your referral letter, if any provided by your doctor, in your country. Please feel free to contact us at any time to schedule an appointment.
 
Q. Would I need a visa in order to enter Sri Lanka to seek medical treatment?
A. The Immigration Authority of Sri Lanka provides 30 days Tourist Visas on arrival at the airport. You are advised to declare that you have arrived for medical treatment on the disembarkation card, before submitting to the immigration officer.
 
Q. If my treatment requires that I enter Sri Lanka several times, would I need a visa for subsequent visits?
You can enter Sri Lanka on a tourist visa it will be valid for 30 days, if your treatment requires you to stay in Sri Lanka longer than this period an extension can be applied for at the Department of Immigration
( http://www.immigration.gov.lk/html/visa/info.html ) for 3 month, 6 month or 9 month Tourist visa extension. Please note their will be a fee to pay in Sri Lankan Rupees for the extension and their charges vary depending on your country of origin.

The hospital can issue a letter to support your application, if necessary. If you are staying longer than 6 months the department of Immigration will require you to change USD$1500.00 and show them the exchange encashment receipt, to prove you are financially self sufficient and can support yourself in Sri Lanka.

Q. Would I be informed of the medical costs associated with my treatment before I come to Sri Lanka ?
A. We will give you the estimated medical costs, based on the medical report you provide. However, following your first consultation with the doctor; and the estimated medical costs may be revised in accordance with the doctor's recommendations for your particular treatment/s.
 
Q. Is there accommodation near the hospital for my family members?
A. We can arrange for accommodation at nearby hotels or guest houses for your stay through our travel desk, please contact us if you would like help with your accommodation requirements.
 
Q. I do not speak English very well, can you arrange for translators?
A. We will be happy to arrange for translators for you. Just inform our International Medical Services officers when your appointment at the hospital is confirmed. The service will be chargeable, if we are unable to find a translator for your language within the hospital and we need to contact your embassy.
 
Q. Can your hospital cater for special dietary needs?
A. We can make the appropriate arrangements, please inform our International Medical Services officers when you are admitted. All our hospitals' kitchens are also Halal-certified.
