Dr. R. P. Sanjaya Ratnayake

Group Chief Executive Officer/ Group Director - Medical Services, Lanka Hospitals PLC

With over two decades of distinguished experience in healthcare, Dr. Sanjaya Ratnayake serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals Group. A visionary leader in healthcare administration, his extensive expertise spans clinical excellence, hospital management, and patient care innovation.

Prior to assuming the role of Group CEO, Dr. Ratnayake served as the Director of Medical Services at Lanka Hospitals Plc. from July 2024. His proven track record in medical leadership includes key executive roles such as Director of Medical Services (2023–2024) and Deputy Director (2022) at Durdans Hospital, as well as Senior Manager of Medical Services and Clinical Excellence at Hemas Hospitals (2019–2022). He also previously held the position of Chief Medical Officer at the Asiri Group of Hospitals.

Dr. Ratnayake brings a global perspective to his leadership, having gained valuable international clinical experience in the United Kingdom as a Senior House Officer (SHO) in Neurosurgery at Queens Hospital, Romford, and as a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Nuffield Hospital Plymouth. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Russian State Medical University and a Master of Science (MSc) in Healthcare Administration from Asia e University.

Our History

Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC began its operations in Sri Lanka on 7th June 2002 under the brand name Apollo Hospitals, part of the prestigious Apollo Hospitals chain founded by the renowned Dr. Pratap C. Reddy in India.

Over the past decade, Lanka Hospitals has achieved significant milestones in infrastructure development and the enhancement of its products and services. Our Food Safety Policy

Our Food & Beverages Department is dedicated to providing safe, high-quality food that poses no health risks to patients, staff, and other consumers, while continuously improving our Food Safety Management System. We take every precaution to ensure that all food products are free from contamination and meet the highest safety standards. Lanka Hospitals commitment to food safety is upheld through strict adherence to statutory requirements, applicable laws, and industry standards, alongside rigorous hygienic practices. Clear responsibilities are assigned and communicated to our staff, who undergo regular training to ensure compliance. This policy is consistently implemented, communicated, reviewed, updated, and maintained across the department.
