Currently serving as the Group CEO at Lanka Hospitals PLC., Mr. Lokuarachchi previously held pivotal roles such as Managing Director/CEO at HNB Assurance PLC and HNB General Insurance Ltd., and CEO at Sri Lanka Insurance and Orient Insurance Sri Lanka. His leadership extends beyond corporate roles, having served as the Immediate Past President of the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka and the former President of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute. Mr. Lokuarachchi’s credentials include a Chartered Insurance Risk Manager designation from the Chartered Insurance Institute UK and a solid legal background as an Attorney-at-Law with a specialization in insurance. His extensive experience and strategic vision drive excellence in the industry.
Director Medical Services, Lanka Hospitals PLC
With 20 years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Sanjaya Ratnayake currently serves as the Director of Medical Services at Lanka Hospitals Plc., a position he has held since July 2024. He previously worked at Durdans Hospital as Director of Medical Services from February 2023 to July 2024, and as Deputy Director from January 2022. Before that, Dr. Ratnayake held the role of Senior Manager of Medical Services and Clinical Excellence at Hemas Hospitals from 2019 to 2022 and was the Chief Medical Officer at Asiri Group of Hospitals. Dr. Ratnayake's international experience includes serving as an Senior House Officer (SHO) in Neurosurgery at Queens Hospital in Romford, UK, and as an Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Nuffield Hospital Plymouth. He holds an MD from the Russian State Medical University and an MSc in Healthcare Administration from Asia e University. His extensive expertise spans clinical excellence, hospital management, and patient care innovation.
Group Chief Financial Officer
Mr. M. B. G Wickramasiri serves as the Group Chief Financial Officer at Lanka Hospitals PLC., leading the organization’s financial management and strategic planning. With over 20 years of experience, including 12 years in the healthcare sector, he brings a wealth of expertise to the organization. Before joining Lanka Hospitals, Mr. Wickramasiri held senior positions at American Oncology Institute, Tree Top Hospital, and Asiri Health, where he successfully managed diverse projects related to financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, risk management, and corporate planning. His experience also includes five years in audit and assurance at PwC, where he gained valuable insights into multiple sectors and developed a strong foundation in financial accounting and analysis. Mr. Wickramasiri holds an MBA from the University of Colombo and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Associate Member of CIMA (UK). His strong leadership, analytical skills, and financial acumen contribute significantly to enhancing the financial performance and strategic growth of Lanka Hospitals.
Head of Lanka Hospitals Laboratories
Dr. Geethani Galagoda has been the Head of Laboratories at Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics (LHD) since August 2016, where she also leads the Serology section in the Department of Microbiology. Holding an MBBS, a Diploma, and an MD in Medical Microbiology, she completed her post-graduate training at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the USA. Dr. Galagoda previously served as a Consultant Virologist at the Medical Research Institute (MRI), where she led national laboratories for Measles, Rubella, and Japanese Encephalitis, headed the hepatitis section, and conducted national surveillance of rotavirus gastroenteritis. Her involvement with the Ministry of Health continues to date, with membership on several committees, including the Advisory Committee for Communicable Diseases. A respected teacher and academic, she has numerous publications and presentations to her credit. Dr. Galagoda has held leadership roles, such as President of the Vaccine Forum of Sri Lanka, and has served as an editor for significant scientific publications, including the SLMA Guidelines and Information on Vaccines. Her dedication has been instrumental in maintaining LHD’s CAP and ISO accreditations, ensuring the highest standards of laboratory services in Sri Lanka.
Group Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. Nimal Ratnayake has served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Lanka Hospitals PLC., since 2016. A Chartered Marketer (CIM-UK) with a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and an MBA from the University of Keele, UK, he brings over 25 years of experience working with Fortune 500 companies like Pfizer, 3M, and Reckitt Benckiser, as well as local conglomerates including Sunshine Holdings PLC and Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC. His career includes senior roles in both Sri Lanka and the UK, where he also worked with Wal-Mart Inc., representing their George ASDA brand. A council member and vice president of the SLGMC at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ratnayake is the 96th president of the Rotary Club of Colombo and a Paul Harris Fellow. Under his leadership, several prestigious awards have been won, including the Brand Leadership Award, Best Marketing Campaign, and Best Social Media & Digital Marketing awards.
Group Chief Information Officer
Mr. Kanishka Kulasekera has held the position of Group Chief Information Officer at Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC since July 2018. In this role, he is responsible for leading the organization’s IT strategy, governance, and security initiatives. Prior to joining Lanka Hospitals, Mr. Kulasekera served as Assistant General Manager of IT Governance/Security at Aitken Spence Plc., where he accumulated over 22 years of experience in the field. He holds a Master of Science in Information Security from the University of Colombo School of Computing and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Systems and Networking from the University of Greenwich, where he graduated with First Class Honors. Mr. Kulasekera is an ISO 27001 Certified Lead Auditor and holds an International Advanced Diploma in Networking & Cybersecurity from Singapore Informatics. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with a focus on Artificial Intelligence at the University of Colombo. His extensive background underscores his commitment to advancing IT infrastructure and security at Lanka Hospitals.
Group Chief Human Resources Officer
Ms. Dhanushka Adikari has been leading the Human Resources division at Lanka Hospitals PLC., as the Group Chief Human Resources Officer since January 2024. Her career includes significant roles such as Group Head of HR at Metrocorp Group (Pvt) Ltd., from September 2017 to March 2024, and Group Manager - Human Resources at Bogawantalawa Tea Estates PLC. She has also served as Manager - Human Resources and Administration at Etal Group Private Limited and held various managerial positions in HR and Administration at T&FG - Timex Garments, Mike Flora (Pvt) Ltd., and Ultratech Cement Lanka at Aditya Birla Group. Her foundational experience includes work with Nations Trust Bank. Ms. Adikari holds an MBA in Human Resources Management and Services from Federation University Australia and is an alumnus of Sri Sumangala College, Wariyapola.
Group Head of Internal Audit
Mohamed Nizwer has been leading the Internal Audit function at Lanka Hospitals since May 2008. He possess over 20 years of experience in the field of Finance and Auditing. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia and possess professional qualifications such as Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (SL), Associate Memberships from the Certified Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and Certified Management Accountants (SL). He has been instrumental in building an independent and effective Internal Audit function in the hospital, which primarily focuses on continuous improvement and value addition through assessing the Internal Controls, Risk Management and Governance aspects of the hospital.
