Dr. Prasad Ariyawansa

Dr. Ariyawansa has held several responsible positions in the Sri Lanka Department of Health from 1981 to 2013. These positions include Director of Accident Services National Hospital Sri Lanka, Medical Superintendent Hambanthota General Hospital, Medical Superintendent Matale General Hospitals, MO Parliament Medical Centre Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, DMO Kithulgala General Hospital, SHO Orthpaedics General Hospital Rathnapura and MOH Ruwanwella. He was also a Medical Consultant to Paramount Healthcare (Lanka) Ltd, a Mumbai-based third party administrator of medical insurance from 2014 to 2018.

Dr. Ariyawansa received his primary education at Royal College, Colombo 7 and graduated from the Medical Faculty of Peoples Friendship University, Russia in 1981. He received a Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine from the University of Colombo in 1997.

He has received foreign training in Disaster Management, Telemedicine, Infection Control, Injury surveillance and Disaster Management.
