Thoracic Surgery unit at Lanka Hospitals is where our qualified thoracic surgeons and anesthesiologists perform thoracic surgery with trained operation theatre nurses and technicians, ICU staff, high dependency unit and dedicated surgical wards.

They are specialized in the surgical treatment of diseases affecting organs within the thorax (chest cavity), such as the lungs, chest wall, airways (trachea and bronchus), mediastinum, and diaphragm. While some conditions affecting these organs can be managed medically, others require the expertise of thoracic surgeons for optimal treatment.

Lanka Hospitals is equipped with the latest high definition (190) bronchoscopy and EndoBronchial UltraSound Scan (EBUS) for diagnosis of thoracic and bronchial tumours. We are the only private hospital in Sri Lanka to offer EBUS for diagnosis of thoracic tumours and lesions.
